The goal of the employer sponsored plan is to offer benefit products to the employee that are more affordable and/or not available outside of the group offering.
In short, offer products of value that the employee can’t ordinarily buy or can’t buy for the same price unless they work for you!
Consider this before you allow the “hard charging” WORKSITE or VOLUNTARY benefits salesperson to peddle products to your employee base.
A majority of the WORKSITE benefit sales people tout the fact that all their benefits are portable.
Your employees should not be rewarded for leaving your employ by being able to take benefits with them. Rather, they should stay because the benefits the employer offers are exclusive and affordable. Create value based exclusivity in your current benefit plan.
